Treasure Map at Home

I found this great resource that gives directions on how to make your very own treasure map.  This is a great way to incorporate those basic concept vocabulary words - in, on, under, between, beside, behind.

My suggestion is to make a treasure map of your house with a hidden treasure in one of the rooms.
First, hide the treasure.  Next, make a map of your house and as you draw the map try to name three different things that you find in each room.  For example, in the bedroom, I can find a bed, a closet, and a pillow.  Then, help a family member read the map to find the treasure.  If they need help, you can give them ideas of where to look like "look beside the lamp" or "look under the table."
